UNITED NATIONS/WORLD IN CONFLICT Phase I
The past several centuries have seen a world in conflict as nations have forged their identities, governments have changed, and technology has expanded at unheard of rates. Yet all is not equal. Parts of the world are still under-developed; hunger and poverty exists; social, religious, and ethnic differences are not always accepted or tolerated.
I. Research Phase: The purpose of the United Nations project is to increase student awareness of the world, to become aware of the cultures and history of various countries, to practice research by using note-taking skills, and to improve debate and disagreement skills by using role-playing skills.
A.Students will select a country to represent and research from the following list of countries:
